I've always loved walking along the coast, especially after studying in Wollongong it was always so nice to smell the salty air and be mesmerised by sunsets over the ocean (Yes, I'm a true romantic at heart). There will always be a part of me that aches to go back to the place where I embarked on the first step of pursuing my dream. This was my first year attending the Sculptures by the Sea and I couldn't have asked for better weather. There was an array of installations and sculptures that were dotted across Cottesloe beach, it's always nice seeing the crowds look at all the pieces in fascination.
The Barbie Wave, one of the most interesting things I have ever seen before. I don't think those dolls were happy flashing everyone. An innovative way to recycle plastic bottles and caps. A whole new take on the 'blue bottle', except you could touch these without the painful sting.Fortune cookies? Mini tacos? dumplings? What do you see? Goon bag in all it's glory, I'm sure this was an ice breaker for most people. These were my favourite pieces, I especially love that they are transparent juxtaposed with the storm grey sky and deep blue of the ocean. What do you think this sculpture means? Crochet house is rather cute and colourful. This would have taken some time to create, A+ for Grandma!
Which one is your favourite sculpture?
