Perth is a big supporter of the arts and I admire that they jump at the opportunity at helping local designers and artists with achieving their dreams. RAW: Natural Born Artists is an independent arts organisation, for artists, by artists. It is a travelling event that showcases in over 80 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada, London and now Tokyo. I was invited to this event, not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a mini-festival of all things artistic! The event was held at The Bakery in Northbridge with vendors of local artists, band performances, spoken word recitals, short film screenings and even a fashion show. The talent was superb and it was really engaging to be immersed in such creativity, I was there to support local fashion designer Shreeja and see her gorgeous new S&S collection on the runway.
I managed to sneak a couple of shots backstage while the models were getting beautified into their gorgeous attire. The overall tribal look was fierce, they looked amazing on the runway!

I even discovered a hidden gem, Anne Barnetson from Flying Wolf Co. She is a talented illustrator that works predominantly with watercolours and ink. On the night she was also offering cute little animal portraits on request...if only it wasn't so crowded! I would have loved a cute cat portrait done.
Keep your ears out for the next RAW event, there is so much to see and do and it's loads of fun so make sure you bring your friends along for a drink and grab some great pieces of art while indulging in some great local tunes and snack foods.
