I love meeting new people and always jump at the opportunity, especially when the crowd you're meeting are accepting of your annoying Instagram habits. Let's be honest, some people just don't get it---you feel me? #PerthInstameet is a fresh way to meet locals who are curious about Instagram, blogging, writers, designers, photographers, networking or even just interested in being social. This event was held at the wonderful Empire Homewares in Highgate, Perth. It was hosted by stylists, Stacey Clark and Bec Tougas...kudos on a great job! All the chalkboard hand lettering was by The Articulate, I need to hit this girl up for a collaboration!
By the end of the night I wanted to purchase almost everything from the store with my non-existent expendable income haha! If only. As a bonus on the night, attendees were also offered a 10% off discount to utilise.
There was an army of dangerously delicious cupcakes by the talented Cake by Laura Isabella, which I have tried before at The Boulevard Markets (here and here). Obviously I opted for the salted caramel, my ultimate favourite flavour combo! These beautiful fresh flowers were showcased, thanks to Debra Hayes Floral, on the night and she was also offering customised mini bouquets for $15. Wrapped with love, free of charge. It was so lovely to meet Jinn and Sarah from The Silver Lining blog, Suanlee from I Am Suanlee, Matt from I Am The Wong, and Angy from @angyaperture. Check these peeps out, they're all pretty talented in their own ways and super creative. These juice shots were pleasantly surprising to the palate, I'm not one for detoxing or #cleaneating but I can imagine drinking an abundance of these bottles by Pure Glow Cleanse. Aren't these prints divine?
This was definitely the highlight of the night, catching up with friends and having fun! It's great to let your hair down during the week, especially when you work in a hectic environment. I really appreciated the time spent with these lovely girls: Sharon from Sass and Spice, Heidi from Love Thy Muse and Su from Oyster & Pearl blog. I drove home on a sugar high from the cupcakes as well as feeling super inspired to take on the big bad world! It's such a satisfying feeling to be able to be in a room with like-minded creatives and all collaborating in unison. If you missed out on this event, keep an eye out for the next one that is upcoming. I'll be there with bells and whistles!
