It was a rainy, dreary Sunday, but I wasn’t going to let the weather bring me down. I was looking forward to a long awaited date with the beautiful and talented, Kelsie from K Gets Organised. We shared some salted caramel brownies from Mary Street Bakery and discussed all things creative and fun. Last night, Kelsie had her launch party for her studio residency at Beau Est Mien, where she will be selling her gorgeous designs along with hosting some workshops. If you're free on October 19, sign yourself up and spend some quality creative time with Kelsie, where you will get to create your own 2015 calendar that you can keep and love!
Kelsie started out her stationery business from the ground up, initially creating bespoke pieces for herself, in the need to help organise herself. Friends and acquaintance fell in love with her cute designs, asking “Where ever did you get that?”. Before Kelsie knew it, she was diving into the unknown and commenced the journey that is now known as K Gets Organised. I remember stumbling across her works earlier this year and swooned at all the cute macaron illustrations, it was cute, kitch and fulfilled all the elements of pretty stationery.
I must confess, I have a whole drawer –yep a WHOLE DRAWER—that is filled to the brim with stickers, notebooks, letter sets with matching envelopes, all in immaculate condition. It’s a terrible habit that I wish I would outgrow, yet twenty six years and counting, it’s a hard habit to break (Que the Chicago song). I am obsessed with stationery but won’t use it and don't want to risk wasting it. Kelsie added, that a lot of people she knows feels exactly the same way. From that moment forth, she has committed to create pretty stationery that people will WANT to use. You go girl!
In the midst of getting her business rolling, she has moved into her very own studio. I am one of the very lucky few whom have laid eyes on it, thank you so much for the invite, Kelsie! Her space is light and airy with a great feel, I love her Ikea furniture and inspiration peg boards---interesting fact, this girl is one of the only girls I know that prefers to stand up while she’s making her magic. I, however, am the complete opposite and love to sit on the floor---who’s with me?
Here’s a bit of sneak peak into the studio, but I know that Kelsie is going to be changing things around over time. This girl is an inspiration and has a great mantra of “Positivity” that exudes from her fun works to her lovable nature. Make sure you come say hello to this gorgeous girl when her studio officially opens, and if you ever want to get some creative inspiration, Kelsie is your girl.
