With the chaos that the silly season brings, it's the perfect time to reflect on the year that has passed and be grateful for all the achievements - big and small. I've got plenty to celebrate, making a year that is filled with memories that I will always cherish but sometimes I am guilty of being hard on myself. This month has been all kinds of crazy with loads of changes, it's very easy to feel overwhelmed and it's only human to be feeling out of your depth when new challenges are sprung upon you. I decided to splurge a little and bought a little something special for my birthday, and also a little treat to remind myself that I deserve to take care of myself too!
This luxurious embroidered leather jacket stole my heart the minute I laid eyes on it, the colours and the design just make me smile and feel wrapped in happiness. Colour has always been my best friend and I've never been one to shy away from it, this year I noticed my wardrobe started to look a little lifeless...I suddenly began to resent it, how could I have let this happen?
Anyway, be fearless in colour and always go boldly! This will speak worlds before even saying a word, it may be through a pop of colour in the accessories that you pair, or even those cute bright blue heels that you were indecisive about. I know that the Parisians are all for limited colour palettes and muted, classic tones and cuts...I'm the the total opposite. Colour = happiness. Back to my coat, let's take a moment to get excited for how great this coat is? I've paired mine with a simple silk slip dress from Zimmermann and my go-to white leather Chuck Taylors.
Just like the New Yorkers, I enjoy giving love to my more expensive pieces and pairing with them with casual looks so I get the most cost effective wear from each outfit. I'd like to add that you don't need an excuse to dress up and wear what you want, if you're 100% comfortable with it, it doesn't matter what the world thinks.
